Even if there appears to be some liquid remaining in the pen, if the dose counter does not allow you to select your full dose, there isn’t enough medication left for a complete injection, and you should use a new pen. The dose counter is the most reliable indicator. Always dispose of empty pens in an FDA-cleared sharps disposal container.
